Our Story
The Gladys Walker Seeds of Service Foundation was established in April 2026 to honor the life and legacy of Gladys Walker (1934–2025), a devoted servant of God whose compassion touched countless lives.
Following her passing in October 2025, her children established the Foundation to continue her legacy of faith, generosity, compassion, and community service.
Our Mission
The Gladys Walker Seeds of Service Foundation continues her legacy by investing in the next generation of compassionate community leaders. Our mission is to provide scholarships to students who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service while fostering a spirit of giving back through support of homeless individuals and organizations that serve them.
We believe service has the power to transform lives—not only for those receiving help, but also for those who give it. By supporting students who lead with empathy, compassion, and purpose, we aim to inspire lasting change in our communities and create a culture of service that uplifts those most in need.

Gladys Walker's Legacy
Gladys Walker believed serving others was more than an act of kindness—it was a way of life. Guided by her unwavering faith, she volunteered with CCAP in Winchester, Virginia, and local churches, providing food, clothing, financial assistance, and hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
This foundation exists so that her example continues: planting seeds of service in Winchester and growing futures for those who need it most. Her legacy is not a memory but a mission we carry forward together.
